Mrs. Constance B. (Allan) DeFabio, a longtime resident of Melrose, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, April 26, 2011. She was 84.

Constance Allan was born on May 26, 1926 in Malden, a daughter of the late John W. Allan and Evangeline (Rice) Allan. She was raised in Malden and graduated from Malden High School. She worked at Roger’s Jewelry Store in Malden from 1949 until 1962 and for Transitron in Wakefield. Mrs. DeFabio then worked for over 20 years in retail sales for Kmart until retiring in 1999 at the age of 72. Mrs. DeFabio loved her home which was so important to her and especially loved gardening and taking care of her favorite flowers lilies and irises in her backyard.

Constance was the beloved wife of the late Arthur J. DeFabio. Devoted mother of Arthur J. DeFabio, Jr. and his wife Lori Stirling-DeFabio of Melrose. Dear sister of David J. Allan and his wife Jean of Naples, Florida, and the late Charles H. Allan and his wife Louise of Bedford.

Funeral Service at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St, Melrose on Saturday, April 30 at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visitation on Saturday from 9:00-10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
