Elaine Sammons March 23, 1932 - October 7, 2011 Elaine Sammons of Waco passed away Friday, October 7, 2011. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 12, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with the Rev. Su Milam officiating. Visitation will begin 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, one hour prior to the chapel service at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Burial will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 13, at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Beaumont, TX. Elaine was born March 23, 1932 in Port Arthur, Texas to Raymond and Constance Ford. She retired from Waco ISD as an elementary school teacher of long standing. Elaine was a member of First United Methodist Church of Waco and served in The Sanctuary Choir. She was a member of the Euterpian Music Club, the Delta Sigma Chapter of Kappa Gamma Society International, and the Baylor Senior Choir. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George Donald Sammons, and one daughter, Donna Kathleen Warthan. She is survived by her son, David Hamilton Sammons of Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia; her sister, Jesslyn Lewis, of Nederland, TX; five grandsons and several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Baylor Senior Choir, 913 Snow Mass Drive, Hewitt, TX 76643 in memory of Elaine.
