Mrs. Corene Branhan Austin, age 85 of McDonough, Georgia passed away December 3, 2011. She was born in Bishopville, SC to the late Langely Leroy and Margaret Dora Boykin Branhan. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, James Denver Austin in 2001 and by siblings, Leroy Branhan and Ruth Lester. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, yard work, gardening, flowers and animals. Survivors include her sons, Jerry (Colleen) Austin of McDonough, Robert D. (Sara Ann) Austin of Jackson; grandchildren, Tyler and James Austin and Meagan Murphy; great grandchildren, Savannah, Andy and Ethen Austin; sisters, Jenell Poindexter of NC and Virginia (Les) Johnson of Houston, TX; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park.
