Cornelio Layao, 91, of the 300 block of Hospital Dr., Virginia Beach, VA, passed away August 3, 2011, in Virginia Beach, VA. A native of Calamba Laguna, Philippines, he was the son of the late Mariano and Modesta Layao. He was a WWII veteran and worked with Civil Service as an Accountant. He was a member of the American Legion and the Fil-Am Association of VA. He is survived by his wife, Juanita Layao; his son, Armando Layao and wife Sheryl of Virginia Beach, VA; three daughters, Amelia Layao of the Philippines and Maria Layao and Jessa Layao of Virginia Beach, VA; and seven grandchildren, Alliah Layao and Lyneia Layao of the Philippines, Kyle Spencer Layao, Kristian Darrell Layao, Sofia Marie Layao, Mia Jessell Layao and Elena Alexandria Eichberger, all of Virginia Beach, VA. A funeral mass will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Holy Spirit Parish with Fr. Timothy Kuhneman officiating. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
