Funeral services for Curtis Earl Lehde, 89, of Caldwell are set for 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 12, 2011, at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell, with Rev. Billy Sutherland officiating. Interment will follow at Masonic Cemetery in Caldwell under the care and direction of Strickland Funeral Home of Caldwell. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, September 11, 2011. Mr. Lehde passed away September 8, 2001, in Caldwell. Curtis was born August 8, 1922 to Fred Lehde and Bertha (Kretzer) Lehde in Caldwell, Texas. He married Jeffa Marie Newcomb on March 21, 1946, in Caldwell, Texas. Curtis was a deacon at Harmony Baptist Church for 45 years, as well as a member of the Texas Cattleman's Association and the Farm Bureau. He also served his country in the United States Army during WWII. Survivors include: daughter, Jessica Hernandez of Caldwell; brother-in-law, Otto Kubecka of Caldwell, and granddaughter; Katrina Marie Hernandez, of Caldwell. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his sister-in-law; Johnnie Lee Kubecka. The family suggests memorials be made to the charity of your choice.
