Curtis Vincent Spears, a long time resident of Lubbock, died December 4, 2010 at the age of 97.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., Monday December 6, 2010 at Sanders Funeral Home. Services will be at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at Sanders Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.

Curtis was born December 9, 1912 in Durant, OK. He met and married Edna Mae Spears September 22, 1967. Curtis was a retired postal worker employee, a veteran of world war II and he received a purple heart. Curtis was also a life-long member of Sunset Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Peggy.

Celebrating his life are his four children, Hershel Spears and wife, Cheryl of Lubbock, Barbara McInroe Bruster and husband Dennis of Lubbock, Frank McInroe and wife, Sharon of Lubbock, and Kenneth Shropshire of Lewisville; brother, Claude Spears of Wichita Falls; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
