FOX - Dale H. Fox, 76, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, November 3, 2009. Born in Port Huron, MI, he moved to Albuquerque, NM in 1970. He is survived by his wife of 35 years Luana, children: Carrie Diedrich and husband Bill, Jeff Fox and wife Deena, Brenda Satar, Mike Hendricks and wife Nancy, Tim Fox and wife Julia, Mark Hendricks and wife Sunnee and Jill Griggs and husband Donald. Dale is also survived by his brother, Gary Fox and wife Evi, brother-in-law Larry Strickland and wife Sheriece, grandchildren, Brian Diedrich and wife Ashleigh, Kristi Diedrich, Mollie Brown and husband Jake, Chris Satar, Jacob Fox, Isaac Fox, Jason Fox, Jaeden Hendricks, Railee Hendricks, Hannah Williams, Jonathon Fox, Hans Hendricks, Ashley Fox, Heather Fox and Emma Griggs, great grandchildren Landon and Bristol and many other family and friends. He was master and companion to Murphy, his loving and faithful Lhaso Apso.
Mr. Fox served in the US Air Force, 98th Air Refueling Squadron, managed shoe stores and department stores, designed and manufactured shoes, designed and manufactured clothing and bootjack. He was a designer and manufacturer of furniture and doors, land developer and house flipper - extraordinaire, designer and manufacturer of a loving family and community of friends. He was also Mens Leather Clothing Designer of the year in 1978, Autumn Wood Furniture and Door/Fox Manufacturing owner/partner with stores in Albuquerque, Santa Fe and Las Cruces specializing in custom woodwork from 1974 to the present. He was New Mexico Small Business Person of the Year in 1992, National Blue Chip Award for overcoming adversity in business also in 1992, Albuquerque Mover and Shaker in 1993, Albuquerque Mayoral Candidate in 1993, opened first free-standing shoe store in the U.S., the ultimate salesman all through his life - "always round up!", mentor, entrepreneur, and community advocate (and rebel rouser). He was a founding member of the Crossroads Baptist Church in Denver, CO, and actively envolved member of New Covenant Church, team member on mission trips to El Salvador to build houses and build relationships with the people, master door greeter and hugger at New Covenant Church as well.
This loving, tough, caring, cranky, strong, intimidating, faithful father and friend, proud grandfather and gentle giant never realized the impact he had on those he met. Dale was a vicious warrior against cancer for 18 years forever ready for the next step, cure or hope to prolong his life with his family and friends. God allowed him to not be intimidated, to live life to the fullest and never be afraid of a challenge. He ALWAYS saw the potential in every opportunity. The value of his belief in God, his family and his friends along with the open-door policy he kept at his home defined his life. He taught us to never forget the importance of family.
A special thanks for the loving care and support as shown by the staff at the Heart Hospital and Dr Harvey White, Dr Tim Lopez and Dr Natalie Marshall.
