Dale Wayne Jahay, age 63, of Floydada, passed away, Saturday, January 11, 2014 at the BSA Hospital in Amarillo. Funeral service will be held on January 14, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Floydada with Pastor Tim Franks officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., Monday, January 13, 2014 at Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Floydada. Interment will follow at the Floyd County Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home of Floydada.
He was born on August 30, 1950 to George and Wilma (Fuqua) Jahay in Moreland, OK. Mr. Jahay graduated from Caprock High School of Amarillo, and then from Texas Tech University. He then received his masters degree from West Texas State University. He married Kathy Seymore on May18, 1974 in Muleshoe, TX. Mr. Jahay was a long time educator, and after his retirement from teaching he pursued a career as a correctional officer. Mr Jahay was an avid hunter, and was an Eagle Scout. He had a great interest in fixing anything that was old, but his newest love and devotion was to his three grandchildren; Dillon, Nathan, and Bethany. Mr. Jahay was a member of the First Baptist Church of Floydada.
He is preceded in death by his father.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kathy Jahay of Floydada, mother; Wilma, daughter Karissa Jahay of Floydada, and one son, Dusty Jahay and wife Nancy of Odessa, one brother; David Jahay of Fargo, OK, and three grandchildren.
