Daniel M. Foley, 49, of South Windsor, passed on to the Lord peacefully with his loving family by his side at Manchester Memorial Hospital on Sunday, June 12, 2011 after a brief illness. Danny was born on September 5, 1961 to the late Maureen (Daly) and Daniel Foley. He was a graduate of East Catholic High School, Class of 1979 and received a Business Degree from Bryant College in 1983. He was formerly employed by St. Francis Hospital and was a longtime communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church in South Windsor. Danny will be sadly missed by his family and all those who knew him to be a loyal and caring friend. Most of all, Danny will be remembered for being a gentle, kind, and compassionate human being, who on his journey through life, took time to always visit the sick and those in need. He is survived by his brother, Kevin Foley and his wife Katherine, of South Windsor, as well as two nephews, Brendan and Kyle. He also leaves his special aunts and uncles, Patricia Daly of Enfield; Eileen Mahoney and her husband Patrick, of East Hartford; Willie Foley of Tarbert Co. Kerry, Ireland; and many special cousins and very close friends, especially his best friend, Brian Hogan and his wife Lillian. He was predeceased by his aunts and uncles Margaret & Anthony (Jimmy) Lynch, Mary & Fulton Hickman, and Kitty Foley of Tarbert Co. Kerry, Ireland. The family wishes to thank the staff at Manchester Memorial Hospital and a very special friend of the family, Ann Swanson, for her compassion, kindness, and caring way in his final days. “The best portion of a good man’s life is his little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and love” which Danny lived every day.
