Daniel Ray Cummings 1979 ~ 2011, devoted husband, beloved son, grandson, and brother, passed away Sunday, January 9, 2011, in American Fork, Utah at the age of 31. He was born October 2, 1979, in Sweetwater, Texas to Larry and Sandra Cummings. Daniel loved the outdoors including hiking, snowboarding and surfing. He was an avid reader and scholar all his life. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout and graduated from Cedar City High School with honors in 1999. He went on to serve his country for 6 years in the Navy, and graduated from Naval Nuclear School with Honors in 2001, receiving several additional honors and distinctions while in the service.

Daniel was married to his beloved Kyrsten Anderson on February 29, 2008, picking a unique day for a unique couple. Daniel was a good friend and a source of joy for all who knew him and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife Kyrsten, their unborn daughter, his stepson Jack Kiefer, his parents Larry and Sandra, his brother Nick and wife Kaydee, his grandmother Evelyn Young, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bobbie & Bill Cummings, Daniel Graham, and uncle David Cummings.

Viewing services will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, 14, 2011 and 9-10 a.m. Saturday, 15th. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday the 15th. All will be at Mountain View Memorial 3115 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights, Utah. Interment will be at Utah Veterans Cemetery 17111 So. Camp Williams Road, Bluffdale, Utah. A trust fund for his wife and their unborn daughter has been set up at Wells Fargo Banks under the name of Daniel Cummings Memorial Fund.
