Danny Lawrence Linton Jr.
COLUMBIA - Mr. Linton, 55, husband of Peggy Simms Linton, of Columbia died Monday, January 23, 2012. A service for close friends and family will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Greenhaven Preserve, Eastover. A celebration of life for all who knew him will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, at the Marriott Courtyard on Assembly Street. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family.
Born in Myrtle Beach on March 7, 1956, he was a son of Danny Lawrence (Kay) Linton and the late Sara Kate Perritt Linton. He graduated from Myrtle Beach High School and received his undergraduate degree from Coastal Carolina. He received a Masters Degree from the University of South Carolina in Columbia and was an avid Gamecock fan.
Surviving are his wife, Peggy; father, Danny, of Nelsonville, Ohio; daughters, Phoebe Blalock, Amanda (Carson) Thomas, both of Columbia; granddaughters, Charlie, Camden, Susana; brother, Pat (Carol) Linton of Lilburn, Ga.; niece, Katie; nephew, Patrick; sister, Cindy Linton, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Children's Trust of South Carolina, 1634 Main Street, Suite 100, Columbia SC 29201 or Congaree Land Trust, PO Box 5232, Columbia SC 29250.
