Darrell "Big-un" Johnson 79 of Taylor, Arkansas passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2012 in Camden, Arkansas.
He was born on January 7, 1933 in Bradley, Arkansas to the late Robert William Johnson and Ruth (Gray) Aaron. He was a veteran in the United States Army and served his country during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired electrician and was employed with International Paper Company in Springhill, Louisiana and Camden, Arkansas. After retirement Darrell devoted his time to his family, gardening and loved fishing on Lake Erling.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Martha Ann Johnson and a sister Barbara Edgell.
Darrell is survived by his three children, Dennis Wayne Johnson of Camden, Rose Annette White and husband Barry all of Camden, Jimmy Darrell Johnson and wife Theresa of Durham, North Carolina; five grandchildren, Michael "Scooter" Tyler and partner John Rogers of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Lindsay Diane Morris and husband Steven of Louann, Arkansas, J.D. Johnson and wife Cristina of Kansas City, Missouri, Kimberly Michelle Johnson of Little Rock, Arkansas, Robert William Johnson of Lincoln, Nebraska; a great granddaughter Addison Taylor Morris of Louann; and six siblings, Lillie Mae Tarver and husband Gerald, Carl Henry "Coon" Johnson and wife Elaine all of Walker Creek, Arkansas, Betty Jo Herrin and husband Frank of Porterville, Louisiana, Earnest Gene Johnson and wife Linda of Walker Creek, David Lee Johnson and wife Jo Ellen of Natchitoches, Louisiana, and Jesse Jeremiah Johnson of Taylor, Arkansas.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 17, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Welcome Cemetery with Barry White and Charles Edgell officiating under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia. Visitation with the family will be will be at his home on Lake Erling on Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and Monday from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm.
Pallbearers will be Randel Allen, Benny Murray, David Johnson II, Lloyd Clements, Wayne Darden, and Jerry Darden.
