David Alan Vollmann, of Marquette, MI, passed away July 6, 2011 at his home. David was born May 19, 1971 in Park Ridge, Illinois. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Excel and the U.S.S. Independence and received an Honorable Discharge in 1994. After the military, he resided in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and also spent a number of years in Humboldt County, California. David is survived by his Mother, Mary Louise Marx, his Father, Ronald Vollmann, and his two brothers Larry Johnston, and R. Paul Vollmann. A memorial will be held Friday, July 15, 2011 at 3 PM at the Hiawatha Township Cemetery, 12 miles North of Manistique, Michigan on Highway M-94. Donations in David's memory may be made to the Marquette-Alger chapter of the National Alliance on the Mentally Ill (NAMI).
