Mr. David B. Moreland, Sr. a longtime Melrose resident, passed away on Wednesday morning October 19, 2011 at EPOCH Senior Healthcare of Melrose, at age 92.

David was born in Washington, DC on August 5, 1919, a son of the late Raymond and Edith E. (Bartlett) Moreland.

Mr. Moreland graduated from Boston University with the Class of 1942. He worked for the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission as a Counselor for 20 years and later as a teacher of industrial arts for 10 years. He was also a Master ship fitter at the Navy Shipyard in Quincy.

Dave was the beloved husband of the late Marie M. (MacGuire) Moreland. Devoted father of David B. Moreland, Jr. of Richwood, OH and William W. Moreland of Franklin. Cherished grandfather of Dawn Dennis, Sherry Moreland, and Debra Moreland, all of Richwood, OH. Loving great grandfather of Megan Dennis and Rachel and Nicholas Dunbar, all of Richwood, OH.

Relatives and friends will gather in honor and remembrance of David's life for a Funeral Service at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Monday, October 24 at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
