David C. Bachman, 61, of Dillsburg, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 7, 2012. He was born April 11, 1951, in Millville, New Jersey, the son of Eleanor L. (Trostle) Bachman of Crystal River, FL and the late Charles D. Bachman. David worked for PennDot for 22 years and was currently working as a Local Safety Programs Manager. He was a member of the Assoc. of Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals and a member of the Transportation Research Board. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Patricia (Logan) Bachman; one son, Corey J. Bachman and his wife Elisse of Bloomsburg; one daughter, Megan L. Diehl and her husband Lester of Carlisle; and one brother, John Bachman and his wife Marla and their children Doug and Diana of Midlothian, VA. He also leaves behind three grandchildren, Delilah, Chloe, and Jesse. He was a loving husband and father. David was a lifelong cyclist and avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He enjoyed coaching youth sports for many years. In addition, he was a professional archaeologist for almost two decades. David worked tirelessly to bring reform to the bicycle and pedestrian program in Pennsylvania. Services will be held Thursday, July 12, 2012, at 10:30 am in the Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg. A visitation will be held Wednesday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in the Milford Cemetery, Milford, NJ. Memorial contributions may be made to the Local Motion/Island Line Campaign, 1 Steele St., #103, Burlington, VT 05401.
