As soon as he could walk David Cozad was sweeping out his dad's shop. Trucking and trailers were in his blood. After the premature deaths of his father and brother, David took over Cozad Trailers and grew it into a successful trailer manufacturing company with one of the best reputations in the low-bed business, not only for a quality product but also for his family approach to customer service. Born and raised in Stockton, a graduate of Linden High School and a Vietnam Veteran. He died at the age of 63. He is survived by his children Trisha Stone, Jared Cozad, Michelle Cozad, Lindsay Cozad and his granddaughter Avery Stone. He was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Cozad, his brother, Jim Cozad, his mother, Carmelita Cozad and his father, Luther Cozad.
A celebration of his life will be held Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Deyoung Memorial Chapel, 601 N. California St., Stockton, CA with the committal at Cherokee Memorial Park. David loved watching all of his children play basketball. In lieu of flowers and in memory of a close family friend, Jocelyn Mancebo, who recently passed away, it is the family's wish that donations be made to Delta College, Attn. Cheryl De La Cruz, Financial Aid and Veterans Services, Box # 111, 5151 Pacific Ave., Stockton, CA 95207; memo Jocelyn Mancebo Basketball Scholarship Fund.
There will be no visitation.
