To my Dear Uncle Dave,

Where to begin to express such a heartfelt loss... So many memories of our discussions of our beloved Chicago Cubs. Your love for baseball was so strong and we had some nice times when you came to watch Nick, Andrew and Joe play little league. You would always say " I am going to take a trip to the snack shack and get me one of those all beef hot dogs, some chips and a coca-cola.

Your love for baseball was so strong and we had some nice times when you came to watch Nick, Andrew and Joe play little league. You would always say " I am going to take a trip to the snack shack and get me one of those all beef hot dogs, some chips and a coca-cola. None of that diet stuff!" Always with a big smile and always enjoying being there and watching the boys. Everyone always remembered you and your great stories. Nick has a fond memory of a trip to Memphis when you were telling him about an electric fence for dogs. Nick pretended to not know about the fence and just listened; not sure how long the story lasted but I would guess quite a while. He loved to listen to you because you always had a way with people and storytelling. The memory brings a smile to his face! Know you will be missed and never forgotten. You are in a better place with Auntie B and Robbie. We love and miss you,

I will always remember David, who had an open heart to all. He was a good father, a good husband and a good brother-in-law. Ruth and I would travel down to Florida for many years to see Mom & Dad, David and Beverly. David was a very generous person who always opened his house to us. When we would visit with Dave and Bev, it was always party-time. We would be traveling with them to Disneyland, Epcot Center, Cocoa

I will always remember David, who had an open heart to all. He was a good father, a good husband and a good brother-in-law. Ruth and I would travel down to Florida for many years to see Mom & Dad, David and Beverly. David was a very generous person who always opened his house to us. When we would visit with Dave and Bev, it was always party-time. We would be traveling with them to Disneyland, Epcot Center, Cocoa Beach, Daytona Beach, the National Shoreline, Cypress Gardens, countless restaurants--always having a great time.
What I remember fondly of David is how he helped Beverly in helping and caring for our Mom and Dad. The countless times in taking them shopping, trips to the doctors, and all the party places we visited. I remember the little things he did for them--helping them in & out of the van or putting the contents of a can of beer into an empty coke can so Dad wouldn't get arrested at Daytona Beach.
I know that this seems like a little thing to do but in Dad's eyes it was a very big thing.
God only knows all the unselfish things that David has done for others and I'm sure God has a special place in Heaven for David.

To Dave--thanks for the wonderful rides in your big blue van--to Cocoa Beach, Kennedy Space Center, Dixie Crossroads in Titusville, to Palma Maria, to Our Lady's Shrine near Disney, to Mass every Sunday.
Thank you for your jokes, your stories, your good humor.

The Loss of a Dear Brother-in-Law & Uncle to Don & Dan.
David had many nieces and nephews. He treated them all the same, Liked everyone of them. Talked to them, kidded around with them, made them feel special. He was just that kind of person. He Liked Everyone.
The Whole Family loved David, enjoyed being around him, listening to his stories and especially his laughter. He always lite up the room.

For Many years he took on the role of Caregiver to Grandpa Kalkstein, he always made sure he had everything he needed, would help in the bathing, making sure there was groceries in the house. Even traveled to Chicago with him & Grandma & his Wife Beverly to a Nephews wedding. It was not an easy job, Grandpa was paralyzed and very heavy to carry. But, he didn't complain, he wanted to do this. Grandma & Grandpa had to be at this very important Family occasion.
David Loved his Wife Beverly and of course his 3 children, he never said my "step children" Nope, they were his children. From the day Beverly and he married, they were His Children. He took care of them and loved each & every one of them like his own.
Dearest Brother-in-Law you will be missed. We had many laughs when you came down to Mountain Home.
You were Loved by all.

We are very sorry for the passing of Uncle Dave, but know that he is at peace and no longer in pain. We will always remember his ability to tell a great story and make us all laugh. Rest in peace, Uncle Dave. June and Joyce and all of the extended family - you are all in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

My Dad was a man that brought love and laughter into many lives. He took on the task of raising three children that were not his own. He did a good job of it to. He was a hard worker and a good provider for our family. He loved family get togethers and often could be found telling a joke,dancing or singing. He was such a kind and loving person. His kindness and laughter will always be remembered. After my sister had passed away he came to Chicago to stay at Judy & Billy's home and brought the CD "Hampster Dance" for the children. David taught Zach & Francesca how to do the "Hampster Dance". They got such a big kick out of this they would could not stop laughing. He made everyone happy! I would call him almost everyday when he moved to Utah to talk to him and he would always make me so happy. We are so blessed the day he came into our family.
He is such a loving and giving person. He will always be remembered in my prayers each day. I am going to miss him but I know in my heart he is in a better place that he is not suffering anymore. I love you David! May you be in peace and without pain. Thank you for such good memories.
