DAVID GORDON BEAHAM

David Gordon Beaham, from Fairway, Kansas was called home on Friday, October 7, 2011. He was 47. A life-long Kansas City resident, David was born on November 26, 1963 to Nancy and Gordon Beaham. David attended Pembroke Hill from 1969 to 1981. He attended the University of Kansas where he majored in Soviet Studies. David was a member of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity.

In 1992, David married the love of his life, Tricia Brown Beaham. Together they had three children, Taylor, Parker, and Gracie. His family was the most important part of his life, and he was known for creating a family-like circle with his many friends.

David began working at the family business, The Faultless Starch Bon Ami Company, shortly after college. By 2004, he had risen to the position of President, overseeing acquisition of new brands, and the lauded renovation of a historic building in the Kansas City West Bottoms.

He was active in his industry and served on the Board of Directors for the Consumer Specialty Products Association (CSPA), and served as Chairman from 2003 to 2005.

David was a founding member of the Board of Trustees for the Command and General Staff College Foundation (CGSCF). Established in 2006, CGSCF was endowed with the mission of building stronger relationships between the military and the private sector. David's interest in this relationship lead him to become a member of the National Board of Directors of Business Executives for National Security (BENS), as well as the FBI Citizens Academy.

All who knew him could not but help being invigorated by David's love of life. One of David's favorite activities was attending his children's sporting events and he was very proud of their accomplishments in sports, and the arts. He was a loyal Jayhawk's fan, and could regularly be found cheering for his hometown Chiefs. His family spent many happy weeks in Minnesota at Sebago Resort, and also on Captiva Island, Florida. David was an avid reader, and was always up on the latest news and theories.

David is survived by his wife, Tricia Beaham, of the home; their three children, daughter Taylor, son Parker, and daughter Gracie; his parents, Nancy Davidson Beaham and Gordon Taylor Beaham, III; his sister, Catherine Beaham Smith and her husband Geoff; his sister, Carolyn Beaham West and her husband Roy; his brother Robert (Bob) Beaham, and his wife, Molly; his parents-in law Sharon Brown and Jack Brown; his sister-in-law Deb Brown; his brother-in-law Scott Brown and his wife, Jeanne; his nieces and nephews, Lauren Brown, Catherine and Aidan Brown, Robert West, and Lily Beaham; and his cousins and their children; as well as many people in his extended family.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 13th at St. Andrew's Church, 6401 Wornall Terrace, Kansas City, MO from 5pm to 7pm. A service celebrating David's life will be Friday, October 14th at St. Andrew's Church, at 4pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in David's honor to the Command and General Staff College Foundation or the University of Kansas Endowment - The David Beaham Library Fund. Donations can be sent in care of the Bank of Prairie Village, Attn: Dan Bolen, 3515 West 75th Street, Prairie Village, Kansas 66208.
