Dave K. de Regnier, 58, died Friday, July 17, 2009 at Taylor House in Des Moines. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at Westover Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Van Meter, Iowa. Dave was born in Des Moines to David and Gloria (Breeden) de Regnier. He was an Army veteran of the Viet Nam War. David worked as a regional manager for several banking institutions throughout his career and enjoyed volunteer work. He loved his pets- two cats: Tango and Oliver, and his dog JoJo. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Jan E. de Regnier of Urbandale; daughter, Elizabeth (Todd) King of Springfield, VA; grandchildren: Caroline, Tyler and Braden King; siblings: Jan M. (Craig Mazzola) de Regnier of Des Moines, Diana "Joanie" de Regnier of Novato, CA, Marla (Spike) de Regnier of Houston, TX, Mickey (Mike) Condon of Urbandale, Judy Messer of Des Moines, Bill Eklund of Des Moines, Sue (Bernie) Lawless of Des Moines, Ralph (Eva) Dillon of Chicago, IL, Rick (Beth) Dillon of Overland Park, KS, Nancy (Dave) Wooden of Laurens, IA, Patti (Jeff) Griffith of Okoboji, IA; foster father, Ron (Marge) Dillon of Overland Park, KS; several nieces, nephews and many friends. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, his foster mother, Sharon Dillon; and his step mother, Joan Simpson Dave conquered many of life's most arduous tests. With him he brought joy, laughter, dignity and the courage to endure. He loved us well. He taught us much. He took his leave quietly with humility and dignity.
