David Krieger
Greenville, SC
David Krieger of 120 Hathaway Circle, died Wednesday, February 1, 2012.
Born in Kolno, Poland on December 8, 1924, David was thirteen years old when he came to the United States with his brother, Herman. With the outbreak of World War II, David enlisted in the US Army and served under General George S. Patton. He returned to New Jersey after the war and started an embroidery company with his brother.
In 1964, he moved all to Travelers Rest, SC and created the largest embroidery company in the world. David tried retirement in 1979, but that was very short. He began Krieger Corp. and Kemco in 1982. He always appreciated the textile industry that gave him so much and was his joy.
David has always loved the Travelers Rest and Greenville area. He gave his time and contributed to many area organizations. He was so very grateful for the love and dedication this area and people gave to him.
In addition to his wife of forty years, Page, he is survived by their two sons, Justin and Logan. His other children, Karen, Kenneth and Robert are living in the New York area; and two grandchildren, Ben and Micaela.
A visitation will be held Saturday, February 4, 2012 from 4:30 until 6:00 PM at The Mackey Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your favorite charity.
The Mackey Mortuary.
