David Lawrence Ball passed away peacefully at home on May 30th, 2011. He was born on July 18, 1950 in Waltham, Massachusetts; son of George Appleton and Mary Jane (nee Bickford) Ball. David graduated from Michigan State University in 1972. On May 5th, 1979 David married Jennifer Manley at the Congregational Church of Birmingham. Mr. Ball was a very active man. He enjoyed bowling and skiing. He was an avid golfer who would golf all over Michigan with his friends. His green thumb enabled him to maintain fruitful gardens over the years. Mr. Ball was very active in the Eagle Scouts. His professional career began in the restaurant business until 1979. He then began his career with Comerica Bank eventually attaining the title of Vice President of the Comerica Bank at 10 Mile and Ryan Roads. He leaves behind his loving wife Jennifer. He was proud of his son Jeffrey (Danielle). He adored his grandchildren Aidan and Aubrey. David is survived by his brother George and sisters Janet Delaney and Cindy Eby. He will be missed by his dogs Copper and Sophie. David's "home away from home" was Lakeshore Presbyterian Church. He was dedicated to his Church serving various capacities such as teaching Sunday School, being a Trustee, and serving on various committees. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 3rd from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home 20705 Mack Ave., at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods. Mr. Ball will lie in state on Saturday from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral at 12:00 pm at Lakeshore Presbyterian Church 27801 Jefferson, St. Clair Shores, MI 48081. Contributions may be made in Mr. Ball's name to Lakeshore Presbyterian Church.
