David Lee Forbes passed away on January 7, 2009 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on January 22, 1935 in Galveston, Texas to Ira Lee Forbes and Ruby Ernestine Reeves Forbes. He received his Associate of Arts degree from Del Mar College in Corpus Christi in 1953 and his BBA from UT in Austin in 1955. David served in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed at Ft. Riley, KS. He was Bank Examiner for the State of Texas for 10 years, Vice President for Union State Bank for 26 years & former B.A.I. President. David was active with the North Central Lions Club for 45 years, where he served as their former president for several terms. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday school for 18 years. He will truly be missed by his family and friends. David is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Kay Miller Forbes; daughter, Joyce Baecker & husband David of Crosby, TX; son, Bruce Forbes &wife Kathleen of San Antonio, TX; sisters, Linda Mastin & husband Robert of Corpus Christi, TX and Barbara Edwards & husband Richard of Pearland, TX; grandchildren, Kirk Baumgardner, Brooke and Lexi Forbes; and numerous nieces & nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday-January 10, 2009 at 9:00AM at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. Interment will follow at Mission Burial Park North, 20900 IH-10 West, San Antonio, TX 78257. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 15186, Austin, TX 78761 or to the South Texas Blood & Tissue Center, 6211 IH-10 West, San Antonio, TX 78201.
