David Mark Gardner, 73, of Lapeer, died Sunday, November 11, 2012. Dave was born July 24, 1939 in Lapeer to parents Harry and Katherine (Farrar) Gardner. He married Karen (Cremer) Turner on December 18, 1982 in Lapeer. Mr. Gardner served his country in the United States Navy. He returned to work in furniture repair and antenna installation for 50 years, retiring in 2001. He was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed tinkering with electronics. Dave especially loved children; he even played Santa for many years. Mr. Gardner is survived by his wife: Karen Gardner, sons: Mark (Zuri) Gardner of Cape Coral, FL, Jeremy (Dinnah) Turner of Northville, James (Deidre) Gardner of Lawton, OK, grandchildren: Noah, Kathy, Cassie, Jacqueline, Jackson, James, Jr., brother: Michael Gardner of Grand Blanc, a dear aunt: Eileen Phillips of Lapeer as well as many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be 4-8pm Wednesday with a funeral mass 11:00am Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Immaculate Conception Church. With a military salute under the auspices of the American Legion Post #16 Honor Guard, concluding services outside the church on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
