David Moses Guzman, born Dec. 14, 1934, passed away on Saturday, March 26.

He is survived by his loving wife, Maria Elena Guzman, and sons, Troy Guzman and Sidney Guzman. Other family members include daughter-in-law, Paula Kafka Guzman; granddaughter, Kayla Maria Guzman; and grandson, Mathew Troy Guzman. He is predeceased by his parents, Ambrosio and Encarnacion Guzman; brothers, Say, Joe and Ignacio Guzman; and his only sister, Nellie Cadman.

David served in the US Naval Service for 26 years predominantly during the Vietnam War. After his military service, David spent another 20 years in product quality control at Spectramed in Oxnard. Permanently retired, he and his wife spent many times traveling abroad and vacationing with their children and grandchildren. Born and raised in Detroit, Mich., David moved to California when he joined the military in 1956. He met and married his dear wife of 47 years in San Francisco. They raised two successful sons who completed their college degrees; but David will be dearly remembered as a devoted husband and a caring father.

Visitation and rosary will be held on Monday, April 4, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Santa Clara Mortuary (805-483-5757) in Oxnard. Funeral mass will be at Mary Star of the Sea Parish Church on Tuesday, April 5, at 9 a.m. followed by interment at the Santa Clara Catholic Cemetery.
