David Hockett

David Hockett, 55 of Coal City, WV went home to be with the Lord on Sunday September 25, 2011.
David was born November 20, 1955 in Ohio to David Jackson Hockett and Doris Ruth Hockett. He worked as an electrician for the coal mining industry for 35 years last working at Kingston Mines for the past 13 ½ years.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his father-in-law Ronald Utt Senior, his grandson Dakota Hockett, and brother-in-law David Utt Jr.
David was a loving son, brother, uncle, husband, father and grandfather. During his lifetime he enjoyed working in the coal mines, fishing, golfing and loved the beach. He was a member and Deacon of the Stotesbury Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife Ramona Faye Utt-Hockett, son Ronald Hockett and his wife Donna of Pineyview, daughter Ruth Bragg and her husband Curtis of Coal City. Six grandchildren; Corey, Landon, Kaiden, Brianna, Hunter, and Madison. Mother-in-law Lillian Utt of Princewick. Seven sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law. Several nieces and nephews as well as numerous great nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley with Pastor Mark Hatfield and Pastor Ronnie Bell officiating.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Burial will follow at Hot Coal Cemetery at Sophia.
Friends may gather with the family Wednesday from 6 – 9 PM at the funeral home.
