Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend David Lawrence Whetman returned home peacefully to his Father in heaven, surrounded by his loving family on October 26, 2010. He was born November 2, 1940 to Lawrence and Dora Whetman. David especially loved spending time with his grand children. He also enjoyed traveling, fishing, four wheeling spending time in his garden, and working in his wood shop. David retired from HAFB after 32 years of service. He is survived by his loving wife Patricia Whetman, his children Scott, Sonya (Kevin Williams), Stacy (Jason Child) also Debra (Randy Olsen), Lory (Brent Linton), Sandra (Michael Freeman). He has 17 grandchildren, and 12 great grand children. He had the most amazing personality, so caring, so thoughtful, so faithful and funny. He was always there for his family and friends in times of need and comfort. He never failed anyone, he instilled in our hearts his traits, which we will carry on to our own, and the continuing generations. He will be in God's kingdom where he will maintain and beautify the gardens of heaven for when we, ourselves reunite with him. Our love is everlasting we just want him to know, that he's our special hero. He was deeply loved by all, and will be greatly missed. Preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Dora Whetman, and his favorite Uncle John. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 2:00 pm, at Mountain View Memorial Estates 3115 E 7800 S Cottonwood Heights. Viewing will be held Friday, October 29, 2010 6:00 to 8:00 pm, also at Mountain View Memorial Estates. Online memories and tributes may be shared at www.memorialutah.com
