Dean Edgar Collins, 83, was born in Syracuse, Kansas February 26, 1928. He was the son of Vernie and Radford Collins. He moved to Florida at the age of 4.
He met his lovely wife Kirsten in Copenhagen Denmark while serving his country in the United States Air Force. Kirsten and Dean were married for almost 60 years. Three sons and nine grandchildren also survive him. Dean passed away in peace, surrounded by the love of his family November 16, 2011, in Orlando, Florida.
Retired from the US Air Force as an E8 Jet Engine Supervisor, he served 24 years of dedicated service. He was a United States Postal worked for 14 years. As an avid outdoorsmen, he loved hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Longwood Baptist Church where he served his community.
Dean was a man who loved two things – his country and his family. He was honored to serve them both.
I am only one.
But I am one.
I cannot do everything,
but I can do something.
What I can do, I ought to do.
And what I ought to do by the grace of God I will do.
~ Edward Everett Hale
