To my beautiful daughter....this past year I have waited for you to call, to visit with your family, to hug me, to smile at me, to say "Hi..Mom"...I knew it wouldn't happen, but I waited anyway as I really couldn't believe your invitation to Heaven on August 7, 2010 was real. This past week that portion of my heart that was tearing apart finally happened and now I know there will be no more hearing your voice, no more feeling your hugs, no more seeing your smile, no more chats, etc. It is so final....God, it is so final.
There is one thing, though, I can communicate with you, but you not to me....I cannot tell you any news for you are able to know all. I speak to you all day long about various things, I wear the beautiful gold heart with your fingerprint and I notice when I get anxious or sad, I hold it tightly. I thank my son, your brother, for that comfort. Sit, my lovely one, on tree tops, go to the highest mountains, drop me a card, stay busy helping your beautiful daughter to get ready for college, protect her there, tell Mom and Dad hello for me, tell your Dad I loved him, sail through the air with the greatest feelings.
Remember, we always communicated easily with telepathy and an innate intelligence, let us continue until I get my invitation to Heaven. If I didn't have such a wonderful son, I would request an entrance card to come see you...in your state, can your soul know what my soul is thinking? I feel your presence frequently...and love it. I love being alone with you...and I love being with my son, Jaclyn, and Bob, Thank you....until we meet....your mother, forever.

Dear Bob, Jaclyn, Sissie and Lee,

Where do you begin to express your heartfelt sympathy as to what has happened? Then you ask us to share our memories of Debi. Where do you start? I was 10 when Debi was born. I recall the excitement her grandparents had of their first grandchild. Mom had those knitting needles going as soon as she knew a grandchild was on the way which meant Debi had all the latest sweaters, hats and afghans. On one of our family trips west, I recall a very young Debi telling me about her babysitter. She wasn't able to pronounce her name correctly as she called her Miss-a Marshmallow. There were several trips to Disneyland. She loved the teacups in her younger days. I have a picture of Debi, Nana and Mickey Mouse framed on my dresser from our last trip to Disneyland. She loved her show dogs and the competition that went along with it and was so proud of the many ribbons she won. Her trips to the snow covered mountains to ski. Graduation from high school and off to college and later her marriage to Bob. I made a trip to Imperial Beach right after Jaclyn was born. I will never forget the sparkle in her eyes as she proudly showed her baby to everyone. The conversations we had about the 'roach coach', her name for the car they would drive to Tijuana. The trips to Paducah modeling garments her Mom had designed and made. There are so many memories. How can you find your favorite and tell about it when they are all your favorites?

If there was a way to mend your broken hearts, I would for you should know mine is broken as well. May you find peace in your memories in the days ahead.

Debi was a beatiful lady with a golden heart. I cherished her as a neighbor. She really enjoyed her long walks and would often take my crazy dogs with her. My dogs loved her more than me. Whenever they saw her they would jump and bark to get her attention. She would reward them with a pet and sometimes a treat. Debi was such a support to me whenever we lost one of our dogs. She knew how hard it was and she was a great comfort and a shoulder to cry on. I could cry with Debi and laugh with her. She had such a great sense of humor. We would chit chat in front of our houses and solve our problems with laughter. I will miss our moments of sharing. Debi was a wonderful person who touched my heart and soul. She will be missed by many.

Jaclyn's 3rd Grade Interview of Debi

Debi Wilson is my mother. She was born on September 24, 1958, in San Francisco. She grew up in Merced, California. Debi Wilson had one brother his name was Leroy. Before my mother was marrried, her last name was Harris. Her parents were Bettie and Leroy Harris. Her dad was adopted, so we don't know who her grandparents on her dad's side are. Her grandparents on her mom's side were Bonnie and Joe Caldwell. One enteresting story from her childhood is she went on a plane trip with her brother Leroy. She was in sixth grade and Leroy was in fourth grade. They were flying from California to North Carolina. They bought some really good French bread in San Francisco. When they changed planes in Dallas, her brother left the bread on a little bus. When they got on their next plane they found out the bread was missing. The airline staff held the plane while they looked for the bread. Finally they found the bread and were able to take off. The flight attendant made them promise they would not forget anything else.
When Debi Wilson was grown up she became a dietitian. She got married and has one child. Her child is a girl. Her name is Jaclyn.
That is me. Debi Wilson's favorite foods are salad and egg roills. Her favorite color is red. She likes to swim a lot. Debi Wilson's lucky number is eighteen. Her favorite song is "Wild Horses". Her favorite television show is "CSI". Debi Wilson's favorite movie is "Pretty Woman". Her favorite restaurant is Old Town. Her favorite place to go is Thailand.
