Demetrio Leyba, age 86, went to be with his Lord and was reunited with the love of his life Josephine Leyba on Wednesday, December 7, 2011. He is survived by his children, Antoinette Griffin and husband, Jack and Kathy Frisby and husband, Frank; grandchildren, Craig Griffin, Brian Arellanes and companion, Rebecca LaFleur, Jacqueline and husband, Patrick Kane, and Valerie Arellanes; great-grandchildren, Isabel Griffin, P.J. Griffin, Joaquin Arellanes, Ashlee Sanchez, Joseph Griffin, Lucas Griffin, and Tyler Griffin; brother, Antonio Leyba and wife, Mary; sister, Rita Last and husband, Bill; and numerous nephews, nieces and other extended family. Demetrio was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Leyba; parents, Liberato and Antonia Leyba; and brothers, Liberato Leyba, Jr. and Carlos Leyba. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and received a Bronze Star for bravery. Demetrio was an entrepreneur owning a construction business. He taught Electronics at TVI as a second career. His passion in life was ranching. Friends may visit Saturday, December 10, 2011 beginning at 8:30 a.m. with Rosary and Prayer Service to follow at French – Lomas Chapel. Interment will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
