Dennis B. Henderlong, 67, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away on Friday October 1, 2010 at La Porte Hospital He was born June 30, 1943 in Salinas, California, the son of Bernard Henderlong and Virginia (Ordun) Kneisley. Dennis worked as a tool maker for T.P. Orthodontics. He was a Veteran of the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed woodworking and camping. Dennis was a "Do It Yourselfer. On February 5, 1978, in Michigan City, IN, he married Marlee (Klingebiel) Henderlong who survives. He is also survived by his son - Derek (Celeste) Henderlong of State College, PA; daughter - Wendy Henderlong of Indianapolis, IN; step-son - Brian (Nikki) Morros of La Porte, IN; step-daughter - Debbie (Roger) Sandoval of Cheyenne, WY; nine grandchildren; five half-sister, Dianne Keenan of TX, Charlene (Dr. Peter) Kesling of La Porte, IN, Sally Allgood of La Porte, IN, Karen Danser of La Porte, IN, Lois Henderlong of La Porte, IN. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Sunday, October 3, 2010 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm & Monday, October 4, 2010 from 9:00 am, until time of service. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Monday October 4, 2010 at 10:00 AM with Rev. John Kaehr, officiating. Cremation will take place. Memorial contributions may be made to: The Fifth Floor of LaPorte Hospital, 1007 Lincolnway, LaPorte, IN 46350.
