Derek Lamont Miller, 33 of Austin, Texas, went home suddenly to be with the Lord, on April 9, 2011. He was born on August 10, 1977 in Austin, Texas to Cheryl Ann Miller, who preceded him in death. Derek was educated in the Austin Independent School District and attended the Capital City Trade School in Austin. As a youth, he attended the East 10th Street C.O.G.I.C., which is now the Open Door Church of God In Christ, under the leadership of the late Pastor Otis I. Walker. He enjoyed spending time with his children, listening to music, and taking in a game of dominoes with his family and friends. His smile and laughter will be missed and forever cherished. Derek was loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed. Derek was preceded in death by his father, Larry Sanders, grandfather, Rev. Alfred J. Miller Jr. and great-grandparents Evangelist A. J. Miller Sr., Charlie Limuel Sr. (Virginia), and Lula Mae (James H. Wilson Sr.). Derek leaves to celebrate his home going, Children, Kendra Miller-Flemming of Austin, Texas, Zakiya Miller-Fowler of Phoenix, Arizona, Amarion Butler of Austin, Texas, Mya Miller of Austin;Granddaughter, Serenity Jackson-Miller of Austin; Sisters, Nicole L. Sylvain of Arlington, Texas & NaChae Sylvain of Austin; Nephew, Bascir R. Stanford of Arlington, Niece, Yazmine Hardeman-Sylvain of Austin; Grandmother Mattie Limuel Miller; Uncle Ronnie E. Miller, & Aunt Donna D. Miller. Godmother Gladis Walker-Barr of Austin; and Great Uncles and Aunts, Beverly Wilson of Austin; Zora (John) Houston Sr. of Monrovia, CA; Lillian Limuel, Johnnie (Joyce) Limuel of Austin; and Charles Limuel & Wilma Oliver of Pflugerville, Texas.
