Diana Lee Layfield
Greenville, SC

(1952-2011)

Diana Lee Layfield, 59, was granted her angel wings on October 27, 2011, peacefully in her home under the care of hospice. Diana fought a tough 8 year battle with lung cancer, which has spread to her brain.

She was predeceased by brother, Bruce Beckel.

She is survived by loving husband, Gary and twin daughters, Sara Layfield and her fiancé, James Carter of Greenville and Robin Murphy, her husband, Mike Murphy and their daughter, Ella Murphy of Greer.

Diana was born in St. Augustine, FL, daughter of the late Fred Beckel and still survived by her Mother, Voncile Beckel and two brothers, Arthur Beckel and Raymond Beckel, of St. Augustine, FL; her niece, Kari Heath and husband, Chris and two nephews, James and Justin Beckel. Surviving also are her in-laws, William and Mildred Layfield of St. Augustine, FL.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2011 from 4:00 until 5:30 PM at The Mackey Mortuary.

Services will be conducted in St. Augustine, FL at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cancer Society of Greenville County, 113 Mills Ave., Greenville, SC 29605.
