Dixie Lee Davis, 76, of the 900 block of Earl of Essex Court, Virginia Beach, VA, passed away May 7, 2011, in a local hospital. A native of Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Isabelle Fennell, and the widow of Edward Lyle Davis. She was a member of Scott Memorial United Methodist Church, the Red Hat Line Dancing Group, and was a former part-time employee with Virginia Beach Social Services. She and her husband loved to travel and she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her daughter, Melanie Shannon and husband Guy; her son, Stephen Davis and wife Debi; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Scott Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. John Price officiating. The family will greet friends at the church one hour prior to the service. A private entombment will be in the Princess Anne Memorial Park Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be made to Scott Memorial United Methodist Church. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
