Dolores was born on June 11, 1925, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Edward and Edith Vaughan Brower. She was attended public schools in Chicago and later graduated from North High School in Des Moines with the Class of 1943. Following her education she worked in the Department of Veterans Affairs at the State House in Des Moines.
On June 4, 1949, she was married to Russel L. Mott in Des Moines. The couple moved to Grinnell in 1956 and they owned and operated Mott's Home Specialty Store. The family also operated Milburn and Mott Furniture Store and the Prompt Printing Company. Later she worked as an administrative assistant at the Grinnell Mutual Reinsurance Company and retired in 1993.
Dolores was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Grinnell, the Order of Eastern Star , and the Past Matrons Club. She had also served on the Grinnell Parks and Recreation Board. She enjoyed sewing, reading, fishing and yard work.
Survivors include her son, Rex Mott of Telford, PA ; one daughter, Virginia Bidwell of Grinnell; eight grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Linda Hasley; two brothers; and one sister.
