Domenico "Dom" Mazzucco, 86, of Orange, formerly of West Haven passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 9, 2009 at Yale New Haven Hospital. Husband of the late Marfizia (Martha) Cusano Mazzucco of 46 years. He is survived by his loving daughter Dora (William) Ferrara of West Haven, his devoted son Pat Mazzucco of New Haven, grandchildren Maria (Jason) Pniewski of North Haven, William (Kendell) Ferrara of Wallingford and four adoring great grandchildren Dante Ferrara, Emma, Justin and Ryan Pniewski. Also survived by many loving neices and nephews. Dom was born in Ruviano, Caserta, Italy, September 8, 1922 a son of the late Pasquale & Giuseppa Guarino Mazzucco. He was predeceased by sisters, Rosa Secondino and Maria Cusano. Prior to his retirement Dom was employed for 37 years with the Leonard Lohne Construction Co. After his retirement he maintained a lifelong friendship with his dear friend Leonard Lohne. He was a longtime member of the West Haven and Branford Italian American Clubs, the Marchegian Society and the Knights of Columbus. His funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 830 Jones Hill Rd., West Haven Thursday morning at 10:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Victory Church at 11:00. Entombment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may call WEDNESDAY from 5-8 PM.
