Donald Allen McGue, 79, a resident of Medfield for 44 years, died June 25th, 2007 at his home after a lengthy illness.

Born in Boston on August 12th, 1927, he was the son of the late Chester and Carolyn (Drew) McGeoch. He attended Newton High School graduating with the class of 1943 after which he joined the United States Navy where he served honorably from 1944 to 1946. After his military service, he continued his education at Bentley School of Accounting and Finance from 1946 to 1950.

Formerly of Bedford and Newton, Donald was employed by the J.W. Greer Co. in Wilmington from 1950-1958 and later worked for Nabisco Confections Inc./ Merkens Chocolate Co. as Vice President of Manufacturing until his retirement in 1990.

Donald was a past president of the New England Confectioner’s Association and enjoyed fishing with his kids, collecting coins, and reading. He also enjoyed listening to classical music and was a Boston Red Sox and Patriots fan.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Judith M. (LeRoux) McGue, daughters Sheryl D. Sacchetine and her son Donald J. of Millis, Cynthia L. Landusky and her sons Benjamin A. and Connor T. of Steamboat Springs, CO., Donna Haverty and her husband Richard and their children Miranda J., Kayla E., and Daniel P. of Millis, a son, Thomas A. McGue and his wife Karen (Siscoe) McGue and their son David D. and daughter Christine E. of Foxboro. He is also survived by a sister Carol Daniele of Westford.

Funeral services will be held at Roberts Mitchell Funeral Home, 15 Miller Street, Medfield, MA., 02052 on Saturday, June 30th, 2007 at 10:30 A.M. followed by burial with military honors at Vine Lake Cemetery in Medfield. Family and friends are invited to visiting hours at the Roberts Mitchell Funeral Home on June 29th, 2007 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M.
