Donald Charles Preston died peacefully at his daughter's home in Apple Valley, CA., on January 4th at 11:00 A.M. with Donna by his side. Donald was born at Gerber Hospital, Fremont, Michigan on July 20, 1926 to Fern and Roy Preston. He was married more than once but the love of his life the last 15 years was Zora Preston of Newaygo, Michigan. Donald said she was his soul mate. Don was a life long member of the Elks, Moose, and Independent Order of the Odd Fellows for over 50 years. Donald was a dairy farmer, sold farm equipment, repaired farm equipment, owned a beverage company in Battle Creek , Michigan and there after became a semi truck driver for ConAgra Foods out of Florida. He was awarded National recognition for Safe Driver of the Year several years in a row. Donald was very proud of it. Donald is survived by his daughter, Donna Fitzgerald and her husband , Joe of Apple Vallley, CA and his granddaughter, Angela Fogel of Huntington Beach and many friends and relative in Michigan and Florida. Services were held January 5th. Sunset Hills Memorial Park and Mortuary handled the arrangements. The family would like to thank " Community Hospice or Victor Valley" and Church of the Valley. Donald's life long motto was "It's nice to be important but it is more important to be nice" Happy Trails to You and see You in Heaven. We Love You, Love you Love you - Your Family.
