Donald J. Stroop, age 93 of Olmsted Township, died on June 22, 2010. He was born in Washington, D.C., graduated from V.M.I. in 1939 and served in the U.S. Army during WWII as a company grade officer in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, France, and Germany. He worked as a sales engineer, sold advertising space, and real estate. He had many interests in his lifetime. Donald was a water color painter, a carver of wood animals, a cook who enjoyed making new recipes and collecting them, golfer and a stain glass artist. He leaves his wife of 21 years, Mildred (nee Wager); two daughters Louisa Oliver (Solomon) and Elizabeth Stroop (Lu Stella); a niece; and three grandchildren. Memorials may be forwarded to St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 23114 West Road, Olmsted Falls, OH 44138. Cremation by Busch Crematory.
