Bates, Donald John "D.J." passed away peacefully at the age of 49. Survived by Parents, Alfred Bates and Mary Talley; sisters, Diane Phillips, Cindy Doran, Beth Crocker, Michelle McNeil; brothers, Dave Bates, Duane Bates; other relatives and friends. Memorial mass will be held in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 4030 Jackson St. NE, Columbia Heights, MN. at 10:00 AM on November 11, 2011. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donation to Rise, 8406 Sunset Rd. NE, Spring Lake Park, MN or to Goodwill, 553 Fairviw Ave. N., St. Paul, MN.
