Donald Richad Johnson, age 68 was passed away November 1, 2009 in Lancaster California. He was born May 28, 1941 in Lancaster, California and has lived in the Antelope Valley All his life. Donald graduated from Antelope Valley High class of 1959 and served in the Army 101 Airborne Division for 1959 to 1965. He was a rancher for Godde Ranch for 22years and went on to be a driver for the Westside School District in food service. Donald was a member of the NRA and loved to fish in Taboose Creek, hunt and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. Donald is survived by his wife Agueda of Lancaster, two daughters, Jeana Hartman and her husband Jeff, Candy Johnson and Ty Meibos both of Quartz Hill, two brothers, Robert Johnson of Lancaster, Thomas Johnson of Rosamond,I six grandchildren, Dakota, Wesley, Donovan, Destinee, Shyanne, and Bradley. A visitation will be held from 5:00PM to 8:00PM with a Vigil Prayer services starting at 7:00PM Friday, November 6, 2009. Funeral services will be held 11:00AM Saturday November 7, 2009 all at Halley Olsen Murphy, Lancaster Chapel

Very sorry to hear of Dick's death, I did miss him at the 50th HS reunion in October when we visited Antelope Valley. We started out together in school at Rogers School on the westside, then the next year we went to the Westside Union School (Now Del Sur) until about 1952 when we moved from the ranch (which was 12.5 miles west on Avenue I) to Lancaster, and only saw him later in High School (AVJUHS). We played around quite a bit when I lived on the westside, always remember his father and the store and Ave I where I cashed in all my pop bottles when my Grandmother Grace and I went to town or the Johnson's store. I will miss him, sure wanted to say hello to him last month. I did not realize he lived all his life in AV...
