Donald L. Spaeth, 79, of Rolling Prairie, Indiana, passed away Thursday November 4, 2010 at South Bend Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Indiana. He was born June 3, 1931 in Bedford, Indiana, the son of Donald C. Spaeth and Lillie M. (Delaney) Spaeth. Donald worked as a District Manager for Pepsi-Cola for thirty-seven years, retiring in 1997. He was a Special Deputy of the LaPorte Co. Sheriff's Dept. member to the F.O.P. He was an avid NASCAR fan. Donald loved nature and animals. He was a loving family man and was especially close to his grandson, Alex. He married the love of his life Cherill Houseknecht Spaeth on October 3, 1959, in Rolling Prairie, IN., who survives. He is also survived by his two daughters - Gina Spaeth of Rolling Prairie, IN, Cindy Spaeth of Mill Creek, IN; one grandchild, Alex Spaeth-Jonas of Three Oaks, MI and one sister - Sue Coffeen of LaPorte, IN.and numerous nieces and nephews. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Leigh Ann Spaeth, one sister, Vivian Wisnieski, and one brother, Tom Spaeth. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Sunday, November 7, 2010 from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm & Monday, November 8, 2010 from 12:00 pm, until time of service. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Monday November 8, 2010 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Ransom Ebersole officiating. Interment will follow at the Rolling Prairie Cemetery, Rolling Prairie, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation Gift Processing Center P.O. Box 5018 Hagerstown, MD 21741-5018 or, LaPorte Co. Animal Shelter 2855 W. Ind. 2 LaPorte, IN 46350.
