Donald R. Briggs, 83, of Georgetown, Texas passed away on March 5, 2013 with his loving wife by his side. Donald was born to Raymond Walter Briggs and Alma Freda (Schneider) Briggs on October 27, 1929 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He married Audna I. Warren in Hiawatha, Kansas on April 5, 1952.

He graduated from Oklahoma City University; earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting. He went on to work for the U.S. Government until his retirement in 1985. Don was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather. Don served as an Elder and Deacon in the Church of Christ in Plano, Texas for many years. After moving to Sun City they became members of the Georgetown Church of Christ. For those whose lives he touched, they knew him as a man of faith and

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Audna I. Briggs of Georgetown; daughter Donna R. Morrow and husband Norvin of Centennial, Colorado; grandson Kevin Morrow; granddaughter Christie Huston both of Centennial, Colorado; son David R. Briggs and wife Joanne of Putnam, Connecticut; grandsons Jonathan Briggs of San Antonio, Texas, and Joshua Briggs of Webster, Massachusetts; and granddaughter Rachel South of Putnam, Connecticut.
Donald is preceded in death by his father Raymond W. Briggs; mother Alma F. Briggs; grandfather Carl Scheider; and grandmother Martha Schneider.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 8, 2013 at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas under the direction of Ramsey Funeral Home & Crematorium, 5600 Williams Dr. at Lake Georgetown, Georgetown, TX 78633. (512) 869-7775.
