Donald R. Martineau, 96, of 209 W. Elm St., Chippewa Falls, died Sunday, August 7, 2011 at the Chippewa Manor, Chippewa Falls.

He was born August 23, 1914 in Chippewa Falls, the son of John and Ann (Anderson) Martineau.

On September 25, 1935, he married Lorraine Fliehr at St. Charles Church, Chippewa Falls.

He had worked at the Hotel Northern, Sally Ann Bakery and was the owner/operator of The Liner Tavern in Cadott. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and bowling.

Donald is survived by: five sons, Larry (Eileen), Mark (Chris), Steve (Jennifer), Robert (Brenda) and Richard (Judith Hedler) all of Chippewa Falls; one daughter, Donna (Richard) Geissler of Chippewa Falls; 16 grandchildren, Kathryn Carlos, Michael Martineau, Jeanell Walsh, Amy Bauman, Aaron Martineau, Curtiss Martineau, Heather Johnson, Richard Geissler, Douglas Geissler, Denise Shower, David, Scott, Christopher, Anthony, Robert C. and Donald R. Martineau; and 31 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: his wife, Lorraine; his parents; three brothers, Howard, Chet and Lawrence Martineau; two sisters, Dorothy and Louise; one grandson, David Lee Geissler; and one great granddaughter, Madeline Anne Martineau.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 11, 2011 at St. Charles Church, Chippewa Falls. Rev. Ed Shuttleworth will be celebrant of the funeral Mass. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 10, and until 10 a.m. Thursday at the Horan Funeral Home, Chippewa Falls. There will be a Christian Vigil Service at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
