Donald R. McKee, 83, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Miller's Merry Manor in Fort Wayne. Born in Amaranth, PA, Donald worked as an Electronic Technician with Magnovox for 25 years, retiring in 1990. He was a Deacon at Immanuel Baptist Church and American Legion 296. Donald was an avid HAM radio operator, beekeeper, gardener and train enthusiast who enjoyed studying the Civil War and World History. He has a Bachelor's Degree from Tri State University and a degree in computer science from IPFW.
Surviving are his loving wife of 59 1/2 years, Ruby McKee of Fort Wayne; sons, James E. McKee (Hazel Blumberg-Mckee) of Tallahassee, FL and William A. (Tammi) McKee of Ft. Wayne; daughters, Anne Patterson (Paul Bate) of Gaithersburg, MD and Mary Beth McKee (Beth Davison) of Boone, NC; grandchildren, Jason, Zachary, Troy, Nick, Alec and Max; and twin great-granddaughters, Mariana and MacKenzie. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, James Kenneth and Mary Catherine McKee.
Service is 6pm, December 2, 2011 at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue, with calling one hour prior. Visitation also from 2 to 5pm and 7 to 9pm Thursday, December 1, 2011 at the funeral home. Cemetery Service is 11:00am, Monday, December 5, 2011 in Whips Cove, Warfordsburg, Pennsylvania.
