Donna "Ann" Antoinette Smith James, age 70, of Lakeview Apartments died on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Mission Hospitals – Memorial Campus. A native of Enoree, SC, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Ruby Brown Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jerry James, who died in 1998 and an infant son, Jerry Victor James. She was a member of Crestview Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Jenkins and her husband, Mike, of Pickens, SC and Donna Surrett and her husband, Darrell, of Canton; three sons, Darrell James and his wife, Tammie, Johnny James and his wife, Pam, and Keith James all of Canton; a sister, Sandra Romeringer of Kernersville; a brother, Leroy Smith of Kernersville; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and her special friend, Benny Kirkpatrick. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Jack James, Reverend Dan Page, and Reverend Jack Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, Newfound Road. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
