Dontá Jacquile Mickens, was born on June 12, 1990 to Veronica Mickens and Johnny Rozier. Dontá entered into eternal rest on Sunday, September 11, 2011. Dontá was affectionately known as “Mickens,” he graduated in 2008 from John P. Stevens High School in Edison, New Jersey. He attended Middlesex County Community College in Edison to study Business Management. He was very ambitious at an early age. While attending school, he maintained two jobs. At the time of his passing, he was currently employed with Trezzco Trucking Services located in Cranford. Dontá was a friend to all who knew him. He enjoyed hanging out with his family and friends. He loved to play basketball and Playstation 3. Dontá was a huge fan of the Minnesota Vikings and enjoyed “trash talking” with his Dad. Dontá loved spending time with his Mom, going to the mall and buying the latest “Jordan’s”. He knew how to put a smile on everyone’s face and was definitely the life of the party. He touched so many hearts, and was always willing to lend a hand whenever it was needed. Predeceased by his Great-Grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Mickens; Grandfathers: Johnny Mack Rozier and John Lee McCray; Uncles: Isaac Mickens, Jr. and Darryl Greene. He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted Parents: Veronica Mickens, Johnny Rozier, and Cynthia McCray; Special Supporter: Tamyelle “Tammy” Murray; his sisters: Morgan Rainey and Tanadjza Robinson-McCray; his brothers: Nassar Rozier and Elijah Murray; Grandmothers: Daisy Mickens, Goldie Greene, and Mary McCray; Grandfather: Allen Davis; Goddaughter: Key’onna Hill; Godmothers: Gladys Parker, Tajuanna Garretson, Carol Cousins, and Thomiquea Cobb-Kane; Godfathers: Shauwn Bennett, Clifford Banks, and Quaheem Hill; Uncles: Robert Greene, Herman Rozier, Dwayne Lamont Myers, Allen & Jerome Davis, and Lucky Rozier; Aunts: Ruth Slater, Aline Banks, Josezetta Hill (Andre), Deidra McCray, and Mahogany Murray; Godsisters: Ebony Slater, Ajah and Amirah Hill, Ngala Kane, Aaliyah Combs, Arianna C. Melton, Essence Garretson, Nyla Huey, and Taniyah Carter; Godbrothers: Tamir C. Ali and Ethan Cleary; Best friend: Marcus “Hawk” Hawkins; Special Sweetheart: Jamel Simmons; Special acknowledgements to: The Rainey/Johnson Family, Ms. Carol Brown, the Brown Family, Johnny Holmes (New York), Jay Wilder, and Wanda Barno; and a host of cousins, relatives, and friends.
