Dora M. (LeBlanc) Gross, of Notre Dame du Lac Assisted Living Facility, formerly of Clinton and Waltham native, died Tuesday, March 31, 2015 in The Coleman House in Northborough. She was 92.
Dora was born on January 16, 1923 in Waltham one of six children of the late Joseph and Lucie Anne (Aucoin) LeBlanc. She graduated from Waltham High School in 1941 and married Robert V. Gross on May 18, 1946 in the former St. Joseph Church. They lived many years in Waltham before moving to Clinton in 1986 and later West Boylston in 2002. Bob died on January 27, 2006 and Dora had been a resident of Notre Dame Assisted Living since 2010.
She worked as a secretary at Raytheon Corporation and later Polaroid Corp for many years before retiring in 1985.
Dora Gross was a special lady. First and foremost she was devoted to God and her family. She was full of gratitude for her many blessings. Dora had a passion for fabric and was an exceptional seamstress. She was proud of her Cape Breton, Nova Scotia heritage. Faith, hope and love defined her day to day life.
She is predeceased by her husband, Bob; her daughter, Donna A. Gay who died April 11, 2012; her siblings, Roger, Lionel, Hubert LeBlanc and Theresa Groth.
She leaves her children Joanne E. Hokanson and her husband, Robert of Boylston and Robert M. Gross and his wife, Susan of York, Maine; her grandchildren, Michael Gallant, Kerri Parmensi, Stephen and Scott Gross; her great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Erin Gallant and Jared and Tyler Parmensi; her brother, Paul E. 'Eddie' LeBlanc and his wife, Lorraine of Waltham; many nieces & nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Dora's life by gathering for calling hours at Heald & Chiampa Funeral Directors ~ The Sumner House, 5 Church Road, On the Common, Shrewsbury Center on Sunday, April 12th from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m and again on Monday morning, April 13th at 9:30 am before leaving in procession to The Chapel at Notre Dame du lac Assisted Living Facility, 555 Plantation Street, Worcester where her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30AM by Fr. John Nicholson. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery in Lancaster.
