Doreen Annette Simmons was born January 17, 1946 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Mildred J. Crosby and the late Benjamin F. Monroe. She accepted Christ at an early age and was educated in the St. Louis Public School System. Doreen lived life to the fullest and loved to entertain her family and friends. She departed her earthly home for her heavenly home on Friday, December 23, 2011 surrounded by her family. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Mr. Alvin K. Simmons; Three sons, Steven Hardge, Michael Hardge and David "Strow" Hardge; Seven Granchildren, Teira Howard, David Hardge, Jr, Shartesia Hardge, Davion Hardge, Sharleah Hardge, Davonte Hardge and DeMarco Hardge; her brother, Steven Monroe; Three sisters-in-law, Janice M. Monroe, Yvonne Walker and Karen "Kay" Hense; One Brother-in-law, Michael Simmons; Two Uncles, Fred B. Monroe and Lee Monroe; Two nephews, Andre Monroe (Twana) and Edward Monroe; A Special friend of over fifty years, Geneva Brown; One adopted son, Wince Summers and a host of other relatives and friends.
