OBITUARY
DORIS D. CHARLES

Doris D. Charles, 94, of Vero Beach, died Friday, July 17, at Atlantic Health Care.

Born in Wadsworth, Ohio, where she lived much of her life with her late Husband, Willard, Mrs. Charles moved to Vero Beach in 1976. She was a stay-at-home mom most of her life except when she helped manage a family-owned retail ice cream business.

Mrs. Charles was an active member of the First Mennonite Church of Wadsworth and the Community Church of Vero Beach where she participated for years in one of the church’s many small groups. Until her mid-80’s she was a regular at Vero Beach High School home football games.

She is survived by Pat Long, of Vero Beach, Cathy Duffer, of Decatur, AL and Phil Charles, of Gloucester, MA, as well as three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, or the American Diabetes Association, or VNA & Hospice Foundation of the Treasure Coast, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.

Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Community Church, 1901 23rd Street, Vero Beach.
