Mrs. Doris J. (Benchoff) Harman, 79, of 11977 N. Woodlea Drive, Waynesboro, passed away on January 21, 2012. Born November 23, 1932 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Merle C. and Verna J. (Myers) Benchoff. She was a lifelong resident of the Waynesboro area. Mrs. Harman graduated from Waynesboro High School with the class of 1950. She and her husband of over 59 years, Jack E. Harman, were married on December 6, 1952 in Hagerstown. They have lived at their present residence since 1988. In her early life, Mrs. Harman worked at the Waynesboro Knitting Mill in the office. She later worked for Regency Thermographers for over 10 years. However, she was a homemaker most of her life. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Waynesboro and enjoyed yard work, Duke Basketball, Penn State athletics, and was an avid sports fan. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Craig E. Harman and his wife Brenda of Deland, FL, and Scott B. Harman and his wife Lisa of Palm Harbor, FL; one granddaughter, Sara R. Harman of Palm Harbor, FL; one sister Barbara M. Russell of Billings, MT; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Richard C. Benchoff. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, January 26, 2012 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, with Rev. Dr. A. Robert Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Harbaugh Church Cemetery in Rouzerville. A public viewing will be held from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M., Thursday morning, in the funeral home.
